Yasmin Hitchin
Contact UsFILTER SCIENTIST
Yasmin joined Panton McLeod in 2024 after carrying out her PhD at the University of Edinburgh (UoE) that investigated the effect of low feed water temperature (5-15°C) on nanofiltration fouling and cleaning.
Also at the UoE, Yasmin previously completed an undergraduate degree in Ecological and Environmental Sciences, with a dissertation focused on uranium attenuation in organic soils and their passage into surface waters. This inspired her to continue on in the water filtration domain of academia for her PhD work, where water scarcity poses a significant challenge and is worsened by the impacts of climate change.
Random Fact: Yasmin is also a fiddle player, partaking in the occasional ceilidh, having played in the Edinburgh military tattoo twice (2013 and 2014) back in the day!
